Joining The Promise Society Team
We’re looking for talented, innovative, and charitable individuals who would like to contribute their time and efforts as part of our growing committee. As we’re constantly planning and organizing monthly events, we rely heavily on our members to successfully deliver our promises to the local community.
In return, you’ll gain invaluable experience in events management, fundraising, and marketing, while collaborating with a great group of people and expanding your professional network!
This is the list of volunteer positions we’re interviewing candidates for:
- Record meeting minutes, send out meeting agenda and assign committee task, coordinate committee member schedules for meetings or site visits, set up meeting times and send out email reminders, gather and keep record of committee bios and all other written material and documents
- SPONSORSHIP CHAIR
- Seek new opportunities for corporate or private sponsorship, secure cash sponsors or in-kind prize donations for fundraising events, apply for available grant funding, connect and maintain relationships with new and existing sponsors, serve as the point of contact for external referrals for sponsors or donors, manage an updated list of donor and sponsor contact information for follow-up, and work with marketing chair to draft solicitation materials and info packets.
- COMMUNITY SUBCOMMITTEE:
PR / Media Subcommittee
Responsible for doing PR and news/media outreach for upcoming events and noticeable efforts/campaigns.
Event Outlet Coordinator
Responsible for creating event postings in various event/calendar outlets, including Eventbrite, Facebook, Yelp, Idealist, etc.
Corporate / Community / College Outreach Subcommittee
Responsible for coordinating correspondences and outreach for participation and invitation of upcoming events.
- FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEE:
- Data Analysis
Interest in data visualization tools to set up monthly financial monitoring dashboards. Qlik, Tableau knowledge is a plus. Commitment of 20-30 hours in initial set up stages, 2 hours a month after implementation to cleanse data for analysis.
Work with board member on event day to keep an excel spreadsheet on individual donations, versus other collections, and then assist with drafting Tax deduction receipts and Thank you letters post event. Commitment of 5-10 hours each month there is a fundraising event.
Financial Snapshot Updates
Using information from the data analysis, draft a informative, marketing oriented financial snapshot that will be updated on the website, and on sponsorship materials. Commitment of 6-10 hours each quarter.
- MARKETING SUBCOMMITTEE:
- Newsletter Subcommittee Member
Manage TPS newsletter to drive event awareness, collaborate with team members to collect copy and images.
Maintain and manage content of TPS website.
- Volunteer Photographers / Videographers
Capture memorable moments.
